Our Founder, Ms. Raquel Aragón
Ms. Aragón established this defense investigation firm in 2013. She is an alumna of the California State University of Fullerton and holds a Bachelor’s in Arts in Criminal Justice. In addition, an Associate of Arts degree in Administration of Justice from Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California. Upon graduating from college, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue her career in law enforcement. In 2002 she became a Federal Police Officer with the United States Treasury Department. She attended Federal Law Enforcement Academy (“FLETC”) in Glynco, Georgia. In 2006, Ms. Aragón shifted her hat from prosecution to defense work. She became a Criminal Defense Investigator with the Public Defender's Office. While at the Public Defender's Office, she investigated various felonies, misdemeanors, capital death, and juvenile crimes. Her fluency in Spanish allowed her to handle a higher volume of cases exposing her to more than the average defense investigator.
In 2013, Ms. Aragón began the quest to start her private investigation firm. She had substantially completed more than the 6000 hrs. of paid investigation experience as required by the State of California, Bureau of Security & Investigative Services. Today, she works with top-rated attorneys throughout the State of California. She is successful in getting cases dismissed based on her detailed investigations. Not only is Ms. Aragón involved in the fieldwork, but she dives into reviewing all Discovery and presenting strategies to her clients and defense attorneys.
Ms. Aragón worked on a televised Dutch documentary with a Netherlands Attorney on the developments of the imprisonment of an elderly man. She has worked on cases before the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, and Fourth Appellate District. Ms. Aragón has worked on high-profile media coverage cases internationally.
Ms. Aragón has worked in numerous cases, assisting Larson LLP with investigating the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena, California. The jury awarded $10 million in damages to the family of a boy allegedly molested at the center. In 2016, she conducted a defense investigation for a retired D.E.A. turned private investigator allegedly accused of conspiring to commit fraud. On the 5th day of trial, the U.S. Attorney’s Office dismissed the nine-count indictment against our client. She was the defense investigator on a two-year trial-prep investigation and eight-month trial in San Bernardino County, People v. Biane et al. Once called by the former San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos and then-Attorney General Jerry Brown the “Biggest Corruption Scandal.” As a result of the defense work with Larson LLP, a not-guilty verdict was reached in late August 2017. In 2018, the defense trial team was honored with the CLAY Award by California Lawyer Magazine as California Attorneys of the Year for their successful defense.
In 2020, Ms. Aragón worked with Maline Law Group in defending a client accused of murder and attempted murder in San Bernardino County. As a result of the defense investigation, the defendant was found not guilty. The defense team was featured on Spotify Podcast “Murderish” with host Jaim Rice on “Roger Ocampo, “Death Struggle” Ep. 063.
She stays ahead of the law's frequent changes by attending conferences and being a member of defense organizations. As testimonials mention, Ms. Aragón is neither your typical investigator nor your heavy-handed retired law enforcement officer. The difference between Ms. Aragón and other private investigators is that she finds a defense, once called by Public Defender, as the “most optimistic investigator.” When she is not doing investigations, she spends her time mountain biking.
